Doni R. Feinberg rounds out the real estate and family law areas of our practice. When she merged her law firm with Spector Foerst early in 2019, she brought with her over 20 years of diverse legal and business experience, specializing in residential and commercial real estate with a focus on complex residential purchase and sale transactions.
Doni’s other practice areas include family law, entity formation, trusts and estates, and landlord-tenant litigation. She is particularly expert in the niche where family law and real estate come together – representing divorcing clients in a real estate transaction, for example, or in the disposition of property in a life-change situation.
Invested personally in every client matter, Doni is sensitive to client needs and handles highly emotional situations with compassion and balance.
Doni graduated from New York University and earned her Juris Doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1998. She clerked in real estate law with Camhy, Karlinsky & Stein LLP (now Greenberg Traurig LLP) before joining Time Equities Inc., where she represented various clients in the leasing, acquisition and disposition of commercial and residential properties. She also was involved in a number of redevelopment projects in New York, including cooperative conversions and commercial, retail and multi-use projects.
For three-plus years as a leasing executive with Simon Property Group, Doni managed and leased a real estate portfolio of 30 shopping centers throughout the U.S. In that capacity, she honed her negotiating skills in lease transactions, working with more than 200 retail accounts.
That work led to her co-founding the Fashion Retail Group at Staubach Real Estate Services, in which she represented landlords and tenants in the leasing, acquisition and disposition of fashion retail space in New York and across the country.
In 2015, Doni joined Ziegler & Zemsky LLC, representing high net worth clients in real estate matters in conjunction with the firm’s family law practice.
Capitalizing on her experience and expertise in real estate and family law, in 2016 Doni founded Landy Law Group LLC. When she met Jim Foerst, they immediately saw a great fit in a merger of the two practices.
Doni grew up in West Orange (Essex County), and now lives in Livingston with her family. Outside the office, she enjoys yoga, tennis and travel. She also is a writer and speaker about diverse legal topics.
